Sussex Safer Roads Partnership attended Crawley Festival on Saturday 27th of May 2023! Crawley Festival is an annual collection of fantastic events taking in place in town. With a great variety of leisure activities, live music and community projects and entertainment. The Memorial Gardens saw high footfall on the day, the sun shined lifting all attendees moods.

Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, Programme Assistant, Jessica Budd worked the event and said:

SSRP supported the community of Crawley at Crawley Festival, with the bright sunshine too! SSRP were joined by RoSPA, West Sussex County Council and Sussex Police, and together we were able to engage with lots of different road users, delivering our all-important messaging. Our Young Road User packs were a great hit with the children, the packs included key resources that help with the safety of riding a bike or walking to school, along with further reading to take away.
We had a fab time and look forward to supporting Crawley Festival next year!

Huge thanks to all the volunteer stewards, the events team who worked so hard from 6am to get everything set up, local radio for their live broadcasting, the community organisations who had stalls, all the local talent who performed at the Bandstand and many more. Sussex Safer Roads Partnership embrace local events, such as Crawley Festival, they provide fantastic opportunities for the Road Safety team to speak with members of the public about any road related concerns or queries in their local area. Through these interactions SSRP are able to feed back any data we received to support our continued work to reduce road casualties across Sussex with education, engagement, enforcement and engineering. We hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did. Thanks again, see you next time!
