The footage has been issued by Sussex Police to highlight the dangers of drink and drug-driving.
It comes following the conclusion of Surrey and Sussex Police’s dedicated summer crackdown on drink and drug-drivers, which ran from Thursday 14 June to Sunday 15 July.
We have chosen not to disclose details of the woman involved for operational reasons, however we can confirm she has been disqualified from driving.
Arresting officer, Police Constable Tom Bezants of the Worthing Divisional Response Team, said: “It was quite clear from the manner of her driving that the woman had consumed a number of drinks. This was also evident in her demeanour at the roadside, where she initially failed to follow simple instructions.
“By driving while heavily under the influence of alcohol, she risked her own life, the life of her son in the front passenger seat and also the lives of other innocent road users.
“Drink-driving is a serious offence and it won’t be tolerated on our roads in Sussex.
“While this was a dedicated month-long operation, we will continue to respond to reports of drink and drug-drivers 365 days a year.”
More than 100 arrests were made in Sussex during the campaign, of which 20 have so far been convicted in court; the remaining have either been charged, released under investigation or released without charge.
Here are the latest convictions:
Sean Maytham, 48, unemployed, of Westerham Road, Eastbourne, was arrested in Burton Road, Eastbourne, on 14 June, and charged with driving with 41mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system, failing to stop when required to do so by a police officer, driving with no licence, driving with no insurance and possession of cocaine.
At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on 4 July, he was disqualified from driving for 14 months. He was also ordered to pay a £400 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Johnathan Helmore, 38, a removals operative, of Arundel Road, Tangmere, was arrested on the A27 at Fontwell on 14 June and charged with driving with 48mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.
At Worthing Magistrates’ Court on 29 June, he was disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a £326 fine, £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
Nicholas Haddock, 42, an architect, of Easebourne Lane, Easebourne, was arrested in North Street, Midhurst, on 16 June and charged with driving while unfit through alcohol.
At Worthing Magistrates’ Court on 3 July, he was disqualified from driving for 24 months and sentenced to a 12-month community order. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
Danny King, 19, a scaffolder, of Willingdon Avenue, St Leonards, was arrested in Croft Road, Hastings, on 16 June and charged with driving with 49mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.
At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on 4 July, he was disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a £200 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Alan Morris, 66, a driver, of Tudor Close, East Grinstead, was arrested in Vowels Lane, Kingscote, on 16 June and charged with driving with 74mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.
At Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 2 July, he was disqualified from driving for 17 months. He was also ordered to pay a £101 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Jean Florian, 22, a labourer, of Walnut Lane, Crawley, was arrested in Three Bridges Road, Three Bridges, on 16 June and charged with driving with 59mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.
At Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 2 July, he was disqualified from driving for 14 months. He was also ordered to pay a £300 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Surinder Dhalivaal, 58, self-employed, of Oldfield Park, Bath, Somerset, was arrested in Falmer Road, Woodingdean, on 16 June and charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath when suspected of having driven a vehicle.
At Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 5 July, she was disqualified from driving for 20 months and sentenced to a 12-month community order, requiring her to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
Alfie Luxton, 19, a labourer, of Crossways, Easebourne, was arrested in June Lane, Midhurst, on 16 June, and charged with driving with 75mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system and driving with no insurance.
At Worthing Magistrates’ Court on 3 July, he was disqualified from driving for 17 months. He was also ordered to pay a £210 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Paul Ducatel, 48, a scaffolder, of Arundel Road, Eastbourne, was arrested on the A22 at Hailsham on 17 June and charged with driving with 121mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.
At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on 4 July, he was disqualified from driving for 29 months and sentenced to a 12-month community order, requiring him to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
Angela Beacom, 39, a clerical assistant, of Langley Road, Portsmouth, was arrested on the A27 at Falmer on 17 June and charged with driving with 59mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.
At Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 5 July, she was disqualified from driving for 12 months. She was also ordered to pay a £242 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Julia Harrison, 47, a residential care worker, of Black Dog Walk, Crawley, was arrested on the A27 at Polegate on 17 June and charged with driving with 101mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.
At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on 4 July, she was disqualified from driving for 25 months and sentenced to a 12-month community order, requiring her to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
Samuel Smith, 32, a labourer, of Watermill Close, Polegate, was arrested in Maywood Avenue, Eastbourne, on 18 June, and charged with driving with 66mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system, resisting arrest, failing to stop when required by police, and driving without due care and attention.
At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on 4 July, he was disqualified from driving for 18 months and sentenced to a 12-month community order, requiring him to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
Alessandro Mantell, 23, a sales representative, of Copthorne Common Road, Copthorne, was arrested in Queensway, Crawley, on 19 June, and charged with driving with 76mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system and driving with no insurance.
At Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 3 July, he was disqualified from driving for 18 months. He was also ordered to pay a £384 fine, £85 costs and a £38 victim surcharge.
Hailey West, 29, unemployed, of Jevington Gardens, Eastbourne, was arrested in Latimer Road, Eastbourne, on 19 June, and charged with driving with 114mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system, driving with no insurance and driving with no licence.
At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on 4 July, she was disqualified from driving for 52 months and sentenced to a 12-month community order, requiring her to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work. She was also ordered to pay a £260 fine, £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
David Murphy, 30, a builder, of Homefield Road, Emsworth, Hampshire, was arrested on the B2146 at West Ashling on 20 June, and charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath when suspected of having driven a vehicle, driving with no insurance, driving with no licence, possession of cocaine, and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
At Worthing Magistrates’ Court on 6 July, he was disqualified from driving for 30 months and sentenced to a 12-month community order, which includes a 90-day electronic curfew. He was also ordered to pay a £666 fine, £50 compensation, £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
Olivia Downey, 25, a waitress, of Wakehams Green Drive, Crawley, was arrested in Ring Road South, at Gatwick’s South Terminal, on 20 June, and charged with driving with 48mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system, driving with no insurance and driving with no licence.
At Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 5 July, she was disqualified from driving for 14 months. She was also ordered to pay a £300 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Lynette Winchester, 48, a travel agent, of Widewater Close, Lancing, was arrested in Brighton Road, Lancing, on 21 June, and charged with driving with 133mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.
At Worthing Magistrates’ Court on 9 July, she was disqualified from driving for 32 months and sentenced to a six-month community order. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
Charlotte Lindsay, 25, unemployed, of Outerwyke Road, Bognor Regis, was arrested in Flansham Lane, Bognor Regis, on 21 June and charged with driving with 70mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.
At Worthing Magistrates’ Court on 6 July, she was disqualified from driving for 18 months. She was also ordered to pay a £276 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
