Lancing Motor Show – September 2023

The 2023 Vulnerable Road Users Campaign took place from 11th – 24th September 2023 and Sussex Safer Roads Partnership (SSRP) supported this campaign through various engagements and events, with support from Partners. SSRP reinforced key messaging in relation to the Hierarchy of Road Users, promoting Be Bright Be Seen (BBBS), and increasing awareness of all road users.
Lancing Motor Show 2023 celebrations saw large displays from local and national car clubs. The show defiantly speaks for itself selling out on tickets every year, offering over 700 cars on display from Classics to Modern cars, Modified to American Muscles, Imports to Exports, Motorcycles PLUS much more. The event attracted like minded passionate enthusiasts & general public to the coast displaying & viewing cars, bringing family and friends together.
Through attending Lancing Motor Show, SSRP had the opportunity to engage with a variety of road users, promoting positive road user behaviour by all. Drivers were able to discuss advanced driver courses with RoSPA, and also received updated ‘Safer For Drivers’ booklets, which embed Highway Code updates and guidance in considering more vulnerable road users. Cyclists and pedestrians of all ages were also encouraged to use SSRPs hi-vis merchandise, including backpack covers, lanyards, snap bands, reflective clips, and drawstring bags, which was distributed, for free, to increase visibility and to drivers and other road users on Sussex Roads. The event was extremely successful, with a large amount of literature and merchandise, as well as words of advice, received well by visitors.
