NPCC: National Seatbelt Operation – June 2023

The three-week operation, co-ordinated by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC). From Monday (June 12), Sussex Safer Road Partnership have been joining colleagues from across the UK to support the National Police Chiefs’ Council annual seat belt operation to help drive the message home. This campaign, which runs until Sunday, June 25, aims to raise awareness of the dangers of not wearing a seat belt whilst driving, which can increase the chances of being involved in a fatal or serious collision.

Sussex Safer Roads Partnership attended the South of England Show, from the 9th till the 11th of June. With a non-stop programme of agricultural and equestrian displays, country pursuits, entertainment, rural crafts, and a variety of local opportunities, the South of England Show offers all ages the opportunity to connect with the countryside and enjoy a great day out. This event enables colleagues from SSRP to meet with those living in rural communities to support them with road safety-related questions.

SCHOOL DELIVERY OF YOUNG ROAD RESOURCES, CHILD SAFETY WEEK – JUNE 2023

EASTBOURNE 999 – JUNE 2023

Sussex Safer Roads Partnership attended the 999 Display on Eastbourne’s seafront Western Lawns. Resident have had the chance to see emergency response vehicles, get on board a fire engine or ambulance, try out the hoses, see arena demonstrations from the police dogs, sea rescues from the coastguard, and speak face to face to colleagues from a range of emergency services.
