EASTBOURNE 999 – JUNE 2023

Sussex Safer Roads Partnership attended the 999 Display on Eastbourne’s seafront Western Lawns. Resident have had the chance to see emergency response vehicles, get on board a fire engine or ambulance, try out the hoses, see arena demonstrations from the police dogs, sea rescues from the coastguard, and speak face to face to colleagues from a range of emergency services.

2023 marks the 39th year of Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), when Sussex Safer Roads Partnership (SSRP) will join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK. With this year’s theme of ‘Celebrate and Inspire’ we hope to encourage people to be the change that we want to see and get involved in volunteering in whatever way works for them.

Safety In Action , Eastbourne – May 2023

The week commencing Monday 22nd of May, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service welcomed local school in and around Eastbourne to their first ‘Safety in Action’ event, this year. The event is designed to encourage children to recognise hazards and take action to keep themselves and others safe. Sussex Safer Roads Partnership supported the event through creating interactive scenarios for Year 6 children to learn about some of the dangers they may face as they become more independent and prepare for transition to secondary school.

Sussex Safer Roads Partnership attended Crawley Festival on Saturday 27th of May 2023! Crawley Festival is an annual collection of fantastic events taking in place in town. With a great variety of leisure activities, live music and community projects and entertainment. The Memorial Gardens saw high footfall on the day, the sun shined lifting all attendees moods.
