Sussex Safer Roads Partnership attended the Emergency Services Day Event at Route 1066 Café on Thursday the 18th of August 2022.

The event’s focus was one of our priority groups this year, Powered Two Wheelers. The event brought together a wealth of targeted information to support those that rider motorcycles, including representation from East Sussex Fire and Rescue, BikerDown, Sussex Police, Sussex Roads Policing, BikeSafe, DocBike, South Coast Ambulance Service NHS, Community Speed Watch, MotoGusto and many more!

The event saw a healthy amount of footfall from motorbike enthusiasts too families. Lucky the sun was shining, and everyone was able to enjoy the event. We spoke to many people supporting issues ranging from how to reporting dangerous driving, visibility on roads, and providing educational resources for people to take home.

ICE Stickers are a big hit with the biker community, which is amazing! In the event of a collision, the ICE Stickers, containing vital personal information of the rider, dramatically increases the chance of faster and more effective care when accessed by first responders or members of the public. Ensuring those who ride are aware of this service is fantastic, so it was brilliant to see so many of those attending the event keen to register for one of their own.

A massive thank you to everyone who popped along and a big thank you to all those that worked the event too!
